FAQ

Getting started

Thank you for considering MKP Photography! Please use the email: poulson.mallory@gmail.com or the "lets get started" tab below to request further information on investing and booking a photography session. I typically respond within 48 hours. I primarily do outdoor/natural light photography.

How many pictures will we receive?

Each session has an amount of photos that will be edited and put into your gallery. You can request to purchase additional images over the allotted amount for your specific session per image or in bundles for a discounted price. I would be happy to discuss print and product options utilizing your selected photos as well.

Where are you based and do you travel?

I am based out of Casselton, ND. Mileage charges start over 30 miles round trip away from my work space, which is located in Casselton. Please let me know if you are inquiring about a specific location.

Do you have a studio?

I do not have a studio. I do most of my sessions outdoors. However, if you are willing to do in an in home session or rent a studio (considering the long time frame of our frozen tundra), those are also options to consider and discuss as well!

When will we get our photos?

Your will receive a "sneak peak" of some favorite photographs with your permission on an online platform or email within a few days and an online gallery link with your edited photos within a 2-3 week time frame from the session date. (# of included images varies per session type) The gallery will be posted and you will be able to download your photographs for 30 days. We will work together (if applicable) to select your prints or products using your coupon if applicable. (coupons are a part of specific sessions to be used towards prints or products) **You may also purchase prints or products on sessions with out print credits.

What is the best time of the day to take photographs??

For outdoor sessions... sun up to sun down! (depending on where you are at!) Great lighting comes within a few hours of sun rise and sun set! This is where you will get the "golden" look to your images. Cloudy days also work great for day time sessions. Direct sun can be difficult, so location would be key! Somewhere with shade would be ideal to decrease harsh lighting and blown out spaces in the images.

Indoor sessions are best late morning to early afternoon, but this can also change with the weather/ light availability.

What to wear?

Neutral tones are always beautiful. Coordinating, but not matching color schemes also look beautiful. Patterns can be fun but distracting, so I suggest limiting patterns if possible. Match your color palette to the time of the year! Earth tones in the fall, pastel tones for spring, etc. for example. If this is something you struggle with, please reach out and we can discuss!
